The Inland Northwest Catholic Men’s Retreat returns this year after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID pandemic.

This year, the retreat moves to Camp Lutherhaven, just south of Coeur d’Alene. “This is an absolutely beautiful facility with more than sufficient meeting space and lodging,” said Mike Casey, one of the conference organizers.

“Continuing the Journey” is the theme for the Oct. 14-16 retreat that will feature nationally known Catholic speakers, Dr. Ray Guarendi and Father Wade Menezes of the Fathers of Mercy.

Dr. Guarendi will present three sessions on spiritual warfare.

Father Menezes will present on “God’s Tribunal of Mercy: The Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation” and “The Holy Eucharist: The Most ‘Blessed’ of the Seven Sacraments.” Father Menezes will also celebrate the Masses and lead Eucharistic Adoration.

The retreat includes meals and time for Mass, Confession, Adoration and personal meditation. Dr. Guarendi is a Catholic father of 10 adopted children, a clinical psychologist, author, professional speaker, and radio and television host with the EWTN Global Catholic Network.

From his website, dray.com: “For more than 40 years, he has had a wide variety of experience working with parents, families, educators, substance abuse programs, in-patient psychiatric centers, juvenile courts, and private practice. He has witnessed the common time-tested factors that consistently contribute to success in marriages and families.”

Father Wade Menezes, CPM, was ordained in the Congregation of the Priests of Mercy in 2000. He has served as assistant general, director of vocations, and director of seminarians for the congregation. His degrees are in Catholic Thought, theology, journalism and communications.

Father Menezes is the author of three books: “The Four Last Things: A Catechetical Guide to Death, Judgment, Heaven, and Hell,” “Overcoming the Evil Within: The Reality of Sin and the Transforming Power of God’s Grace and Mercy” and “Catholic Essentials: A Guide to Understanding Key Church Teachings.” He has hosted televised series for EWTN, is the host of EWTN Radio’s “Open Line Tuesday,” and has contributed to numerous Catholic publications.

With lodging, the cost is $195. Without lodging, the cost is $140. To attend only during the day on Saturday, the cost is $90. For more information and to register, go to inwmensretreat.org.
