Bishop Kelly High School President Bill Avey announced last week that Chris Culig of Rocky Mountain High School has been named as BK’s new football coach, replacing longtime Coach Tim Brennan who has retired.
Culig has 30 years of football coaching experience, 10 of those at the collegiate level.
Since 2017, he has been head coach for Rocky Mountain High School where he amassed a 58-9 record, winning four Southern Idaho Conference championships and two state championships in 2018 and 2020.
“Coach Culig has demonstrated the qualities and attributes we are looking for in a head coach and will bring a very high level of football knowledge and experience to the program,” President Avey said.
“Chris is excited to be part of the BK community, and the ‘BK Way’ culture. He will bring a strong commitment to excellence that will build onto the incredible foundation and legacy of the existing Bishop Kelly football program.”
Culig and his wife, Dawn, have six adult children.
He works full-time in sales at Right! Systems, Inc, but his flexible work schedule will “allow him to spend considerable time on campus building relationships with students, faculty and staff,” Avey said.
“Chris is a confirmed Catholic and looks forward to being part of our faith community,” he said.
